In the Garden with Anne

Mark the date October 28.  You can count on the best of fall color here in the Baltimore area and Gramercy Mansion is no exception.  We have had a long Indian summer and the flowers are still magnificent.  The dahlias and canna lilies are blooming profusely and the ageratum, both perennial and annual are in full swing.  We planted out some Mexican sunflower (tithonia) in the garden between the pool and house which is now seven foot tall and covered with bright orange blossoms.  You will see them next year for sure.

On garden hardscape, we have installed granite edging blocks in the  Shade Garden to be renamed the Elopement Garden.  A classic marble gazebo with iron dome top is on route.  And not to leave out our Gramercy Mansion ceremony brides, we now have a stone center aisle which will certainly help on the days when it rains at four and stops just in time for the wedding.  We are also constructing stone walls and steps up the west side of the pool from the connector path.

If you love gardens, plan on visiting this week or next for the best fall color or early April for magnolias, daffodils, forsythia and bridal wreath and late April for tulips, forget-me-nots and our amazing azalea display.

Plan your late October getaway this weekend!  Bed & breakfast rooms and suites still available Friday and Saturday nights.  Visit our specials page for last-minute discounts and get your fill of garden gazing during this glorious time of year.
