Fall harvest events at Maryland farms

We just love fall here at Gramercy! The gorgeous gardens are still in full bloom with the first leaves beginning to change to vibrant gold, orange and red, pumpkin muffins are in the oven and the evenings are made for curling up by a fireplace with some mulled cider or a glass of wine. Why venture out when all this beauty abounds right here? For more apple cider, pumpkin picking and fall harvest fun, of course!

Check out these four farms near Baltimore during your fall visit:

  1. Rodger’s Farms – our neighbors just a mile away on Greenspring Valley Road are invite you to float up, up and away with this year’s “Cloud” corn maze. Spend the day winding your way through the maze, pick your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, enjoy refreshments and shop for seasonal produce and decorations. Open weekends September 24, 2016 – November 6, 2016 and Columbus Day.
  2. Weber’s Farm – such fun for the whole family in nearby Parkville. Visit the farm market brimming with fall harvest produce (over 30 varieties of apples alone!), fresh baked breads, pies and local ice cream, hop on a hay ride and treat the kids to an afternoon of barnyard fun on the giant hillside slide. Open daily, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. through October 30, 2016 and 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. in November and December.
  3. Baugher’s Orchards, Farm Market and Restaurant – Whether you’re in the mood to pick your own apples and pumpkins or indulging in hearty family-style dining sounds appetizing, the folks at Baugher’s in Westminster have you covered. Visit the orchards and farm market for apple and pumpkin picking, playgrounds, a petting zoo and hay rides. Then stop in the restaurant for a home-cooked meal topped off with a slice of one of their famous pies, baked fresh daily.
