“Free or Almost” Baltimore Getaway Itinerary

You want to get away, but you also want to stick to a budget. No problem! Check out our “Free or Almost” Baltimore Getaway Itinerary for inspiration. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy around Gramercy Mansion and the Greenspring Valley and Baltimore areas that are free, or have a small cost.

Arrive at Gramercy at 3 p.m. to check in. Get yourself settled, and take a dip in the pool or play a game of tennis or basketball on our courts. On a quiet evening, join our innkeeper and other guests for complimentary wine and cheese on the first floor.  Spend a quiet evening relaxing and playing board games. Star gaze from the treetop deck or toast marshmallows by the firepit. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks to stock your in-room refrigerator and skip the fancy restaurant in favor of a casual, private picnic for two.

Day 1 – Charm City SightseeingBaltimore getaway itinerary

Your morning will begin with a full breakfast sure to energize you for your busy day! Head to downtown Baltimore, only about 20 minutes away, and spend the day exploring Charm City. The city is home to many attractions, festivals, and fairs throughout the spring and summer seasons. June holds the annual “Hon Fest” and farmers’ markets are hosted throughout the city from April to December. There are museums for every taste, from the historical Civil War Museum to the Walters Art Museum. Explore the different neighborhoods on the Charm City Circulator, a free bus service that runs throughout the city.

End your evening at the Inner Harbor with a variety of restaurants, shops and beautiful views of the harbor lit up at night. Head back to Gramercy for a relaxing late evening and get a good night’s sleep for the next day.

Day 2 – Serene Country Charm

Start out your morning with coffee or tea delivered to your door. Then lounge over a leisurely breakfast served in the garden atrium. Spend the morning exploring everything the property has to offer. Take a walk along the paths and view the beautiful flowers in the gardens, or search for the local birds that frequent the area. Stroll along the winding drive to visit the property’s organic farm.
Pick up a lunch to-go from one of our favorite area cafes, including Stone Mill Bakery and Café or Poulet. Then, head to Oregon Ridge Park, only 15 minutes away, to enjoy your lunch at a picnic table surrounded by beautiful scenery. The park has an extensive trail system—after you finish eating, start exploring! Don’t forget your camera, as you are bound to see some views worthy of capturing.

Return to Gramercy Mansion to say goodbye—you will be refreshed from your fun “Free or Almost” two-day Baltimore getaway in Greenspring Valley!
