Meet Our Team

The Gramercy Mansion Family

Welcome to Gramercy Mansion! Whether you’re attending an event, staying overnight, or visiting the gardens, our wonderful group is here to ensure you have the best event or stay possible at our venue. We look forward to meeting you!

Anne Pomykala, Owner

Gramercy Mansion became what it is today all because of Anne’s love for history and eye for a diamond in the rough. Anne and her husband, Ron, were driving through Baltimore after visiting with a friend when they noticed the 45-acre estate up for auction in 1985. The Pomykalas placed the winning bid and became the new owners of the historic Tudor-style mansion circa 1902. They began to make many necessary repairs and renovations to the home and property and decided to open their new residence to the public as a bed and breakfast and event venue.

The artwork, furnishings and eclectic antiques decorating the mansion have been collected by Anne and Ron on their travels across the country and around the world. The landscape design featuring an Edwardian center circle garden, the lower garden overlooking the valley and shaded paths winding around the Mansion are also Anne’s vision and creation. In keeping the spirit of the Koinonia Foundation alive (the estate’s previous resident), Anne continues to maintain and operate Koinonia Farm, Maryland’s oldest organic farm established in 1950.

Some of Anne’s other restoration projects in Baltimore include renovations to a series of Federal-style row homes in historic Jonestown, now 1840s Carrollton Inn, a 13-room boutique bed & breakfast, and renovations to the Fava Building, formerly home to the Baltimore City Life Museums, now 1840s Plaza, an authentic Baltimore event location featuring four floors of unique and elegant banquet space. Anne also established a non-profit organization active in restoring the historic Carroll Mansion and Phoenix Shot Tower and re-opening them to the public. A lifetime girl scout member and supporter, Anne was active in establishing high adventure core camps. If you’re really lucky, some girl scout cookies might just be available for purchase during your next stay!

Cristin Kline, Manager

Cristin is the fifth of six children and the youngest daughter of Anne and Ron Pomykala. Her business background has made her job as Manager since 1992 a natural fit. She grew up in Bethesda, Maryland but always loved to travel, inspiring her move to Sanibel Island, Florida, following graduation from high school. There, she received her degree in International Business with a minor in Management from Eckerd College in 1988. Her affinity for travel took her around the world – backpacking through Europe, skiing in Colorado, and exploring the Caribbean. She returned to Florida, this time living in Boca Raton, before moving to Baltimore and becoming Manager of Gramercy Mansion.

Cristin manages and oversees our bed & breakfast operations, event rentals and the property’s tenants. Her daughter, Julia, also works at the front desk.
