Whether you’ve attended a wedding at Gramercy, or have toured our venue, there’s a strong chance you’ve met our wonderful Event Specialist and Gift Shop Assistant, Jenna! She is always helping our couples and vendors on event days, and works closely with Anne to organize the Gramercy Mansion Gift Shop! We are truly grateful for all of the amazing things she does here at the Mansion.
What is your prior work experience?
I went to Salisbury University to get my degree in graphic design. My first job out of school was an Art Director position for a screen printing company. This eventually led me into the clothing side of art, and working at Urban Outfitters. After awhile, I didn’t want to work in retail anymore, and I like customer service, so after staying as a guest at the Mansion many times before, I decided to apply and become an Event Specialist and the Gift Shop Assistant.
What do you enjoy about the wedding industry?
I love that each day is different. Working around people during one of the happiest times of their lives and being at the venue is so fun! My job is very creative, and I work with lots of vendors who are super creative as well, so it’s a great fit for me.
What wedding trends will you be incorporating into your big day next year at the Mansion?
A few times, weddings here have had glass bottles hold flowers for their centerpieces, and I really love that look. I’ll probably also incorporate geometric pieces into the decor. My overall theme is somewhat bohemian, and I want the wedding to blend well with Anne’s gardens. Also, I’ll be adding additional bistro lighting in the Atrium – it’s my favorite!
How did you become such a plant lover?
My mom has always been a gardener, and my love for plants started with a single succulent. My fiancé, Jon, thinks working at Gramercy has really brought out my passion for them.
In your free time, what do you enjoy doing?
I’m a pretty relaxed person, so hanging out with my cat, Boots, and Jon, while watching reality shows and crime shows is my ideal way to spend free time.
