Love is always in the air at Gramercy Mansion and we are excited to be part of any special day in your life. Tucked away on 45 private acres with 11 beautifully decorated guest rooms to stay in, we are the perfect site to pop the question. You are welcome to use any of the spaces in our expansive gardens to set up your proposal but a popular choice is our marble gazebo! Most guests like to arrive earlier in the day to set up the space or have friends/family set up for them. Our innkeepers anxiously await your arrival and promise to keep our lips sealed until breakfast the next morning when we can’t wait to congratulate you!
Flower petal lined walkways, lit candles, and chilled champagne are always a great addition to any proposal. Another great idea is to hire a photographer to capture the moment so you can have those memories forever. There are many places for photographers to hide until the time is right and we are happy to provide a list of wonderful individuals that are familiar with our property and fantastic at what they do!
Recently, one guest decided to propose to his girlfriend with a surprise picnic in the center circle garden! He enlisted the help of Jillian from B.O.B. Photography to capture those perfect golden hour moments. Complete with charcuterie and champagne, he really thought of everything! We love this unique idea and are happy to assist with any secret keeping and shuffling that you may need to ensure the proposal is a surprise!
Another wonderful location you could use is any of our lovely first floor public rooms inside the Mansion! A popular choice here is the living room as you can shut the pocket doors and create a private room for your proposal. Featured below is the living room set with a candle lit walkway and scattered rose petals. The staff at Gramercy is more than happy to move the furniture and light the fireplace for you to have the perfect set up!
After you say YES! you can roam the gardens or return to your guest room for a relaxing evening with your new fiancé. Many couples like to choose one of our suites to escape to after they pop the question because of the cozy sitting areas, comfortable king beds, and luxurious whirlpool tubs!
If you are interested in something a little less public, you can add on a romance package to any room reservation and get engaged in the privacy of your guest room! Romance packages include a dozen roses, scattered rose petals, lit votive candles, and chocolate covered strawberries. You can either have the package set up upon arrival at check in or have the innkeepers set it up once you leave for dinner reservations. Then, you return to a beautifully decorated room flawlessly pulled together by our team leaving you to enjoy your evening as worry free as possible! Most guests give us a call when leaving which gives us plenty of time to sneak into your room and light the candles.
Pro tip: add our Gramercy Mansion champagne glasses to your room and drop off a bottle beforehand — we will have it on ice waiting for your arrival!
