A recent graduate from neighboring Stevenson University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Communication, Sarah brings her love for weddings to the Mansion. She became a member of the Gramercy team as a Marketing Intern in 2017, and full-time as our Marketing & Social Media Director upon graduation in 2018. Where does your passion for the wedding industry come from?
Prior to starting at Stevenson University, I planned to go into elementary education. After meeting the department chair of Business Communication at SU, I realized that degree would provide me with the opportunity to work in the wedding industry. Weddings are fun and unique. I truly enjoy the beauty that they bring, and I love seeing so many happy couples at our venue.
What are some of your favorite wedding inspiration ideas?
Succulents are very popular right now, and I like seeing how couples incorporate them into their cake decor, guest favors, bouquets/boutonnieres, etc. We see a lot of blush and neutral tones, which look dreamy in the gardens. I think having mismatched bridesmaid dresses, or a different color tux between the groom and his groomsmen, is a great way to add contrast in photos!
In your free time, you enjoy…
Whether it’s trying a new restaurant or hiking, spending time with my family and friends is very important to me. As an avid dog & fitness lover, I also enjoy walking my yellow lab, Gracie, and running in some of Baltimore’s best races.
What are some places that you hope to travel to?
My fiancé and I are hoping to travel to London, Paris and Australia. We also enjoy going to the beach or spending a week in the mountains at Deep Creek Lake. Seeing new places, versus going to the same destination each year is something we look forward to.
Do you have a favorite season?
While living in Maryland means experiencing all four seasons, I would love to have fall weather year-round. The changing leaves and chilly weather is my favorite, which is why I chose an October wedding date!
