Halicia & Eric’s Love Story at Gramercy Mansion!

Where did you and your significant other meet?

Eric and I met at work. We started off as friends and our friendship grew into a beautiful relationship.

When and how did the proposal come about?

Eric and I took a photography workshop to learn how to use our camera like a professional. Eric suggested we use our newly learned photography skills at Sotterly Plantation where we had one of our first dates. As we were walking around the plantation taking pictures, we came upon the garden that overlooks the water. Eric took my hands in his and began telling me how much he loved me, and how much I meant to him. He got down on one knee in the middle of the garden and proposed!

What made you choose Gramercy Mansion as your wedding venue?

Eric and I came to see the Mansion on a weekday evening. As we drove up the driveway to the Mansion, there were a couple of deer running around playing. It was like a fairytale, and it felt magical. We walked inside and around the gardens, and knew immediately the venue search was over. It was exactly the feel we were hoping for – romantic and magical with beautiful gardens, and old historical charm. The staff was the icing on the cake. They were so happy and helpful, and just as excited as we were!

Where did you get your inspiration for your wedding decor?

Pinterest was a great source of inspiration for me when it came down to decor and details.

Who designed your dress and what made you decide on that style?

Essence of Australia. I chose this dress because it felt beautiful on, and it went with the dreamy whimsical feel of the Mansion.

What was your favorite detail from your wedding day?

The best part of the day was getting married in the outdoor ceremony garden followed by an atrium dinner reception.

Where did you travel for your honeymoon?

To beautiful Mexico.

Any tips for newly engaged couples who are planning their wedding?

Set a budget and stick to it. Plan it together. Eric and I had so much fun planning the details together and meeting all of the vendors. Don’t sweat the small stuff because on your big day the only thing that matters is that you are marrying your best friend.
